To make a long and frustrating story short, it turns out that for the past few days Barnes and Noble's Nook service has been out out of order. They have an notice up on their page, and an apology. It's difficult to find though, and I'd almost gone nuts before I did, thinking it was my Nook that was the trouble.
Anyway, the FWiB was ready to Skype by the time I figured that out, so we Skyped for a nice time. Then after that I called the Kid but got no answer. Left a message.
Then I gritted my teeth again, and took two buckets of water out of the turtle tank, and added in four buckets of clean water. It's still pretty murky though, I may take out more later. Not tomorrow cause i have my meeting.
Then I made a decision that since I couldn't get Song of Sorcery yet, I was going to read Lud-in-the-Mist, which I own but never finished reading. I had been thinking of it for awhile, and then today someone posted on the ship-of-fools bookshelf thread that they had just finished reading it, which I took as an omen. So I found my copy and have been reading it. It's very different from any modern fantasy.
I read until it was time for dinner. The Kid called me back and we had a nice conversation.
I got a response to my text to mashfanficchick, and we had a little conversation. She told me about a comedy series on youtube, The Corps, so I looked that up and watched. There's only one episode so far, and it's less than 7 minutes long, so it was easy to watch and very funny.
Then I went to the bedroom and played solitaire til Oldest Brother called. We talked, and I fed the pets.
And now it's time for bed.
