Then I puttered on-line a bit, and then Skyped the FWiB. We had a nice talk, not quite an hour, and after that I went into the bedroom to read. But first I did again what I did the other day, I switched the cats out, putting Oreo in the bedroom and giving Sybil the rest of the apartment. And once again neither of them seemed very happy about it.
Then about an hour before I needed to, I got up, and threw on some decent clothing, and got ready for my YA Afternoon Tea meeting. That was only my second experience with google hangouts, and my first with a large group, but it went well. The meeting was fun, it lasted about 45 minutes. So that was my work-from-home for today.
Called the Kid, for a brief call, just to check in.
Went back and continued reading, and finished Knight of the Demon Queen. That was as far as I got back in the 80s when I first read the first three books. And just as I remembered, it ends with an awful cliff-hanger. I have always remembered the end of the review I wrote for work back then, about that cliff-hanger, and that I would be sure to get the next book. And never encountered it. So even as i forgot the most of the plot, I always wondered how they got out from the mess they were in... And now at last I know!
Anyway, after I finished the book I brought my Nook out to charge, and downloaded the fourth one, Dragonstar. And then it was time to Skype my Al-anon meeting, with L.N. So we found each other and got in touch, and Skyped a meeting. Worked out pretty well.
After that I had dinner, and continued charging my Nook. Then at 9:00 I unplugged the Nook, even though it wasn't quite full, and went to the bedroom to read and finally get past the cliff hanger.
Now I'm continuing to charge the Nook, and waiting for Oldest Brother to call. And I went to Amazon and ordered turtle food because I'm almost out, and have no way of getting to a pet store. I also got some blocks of calcium with food meant for vacation use, because the two together came to over $25 and meant free shipping.
And I just realized right now I completely forgot about the James Thurber reading! Though i would have been still talking to L.N. I think and would have missed the beginning anyway. Oh well.
All-in-all, a busy day.
