VIP visitor didn't show

I started the day by going to a meeting in Manhattan, the Best Books for the Teenage Book Buzz. Which is the sad a depleted descendant of the old YA Teas. Which I miss with all my heart and soul.It was interesting though, and the refreshments were good, so I had a good time. Even though it was only about 45 minutes instead of the two hours it was supposed to be.

I went back to the branch and waited expectantly, as did we all, for the arrival of the very high level VIP who was expected to tour today. And he never showed. That was depressing.

Didn't talk to the FWiB after work either, because his wife was dropping off his desk chair for him just when I would normally Skype. But we did get a little Skype in later, after she left.

Then called Oldest Brother at 9:30 and talked while I was waiting for [personal profile] mashfanficchick and her mother to pick me up. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner, and then they took me to Stop and Shop where I got milk, cereal, and eggnog.

Came home and now it's time for bed.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. There is still some sort of best books for teens list and celebration, even though it doesn't compare to the past.

3. My warm coat when the bus was late.

4. Free day tomorrow.

5. Got milk and cereal for tomorrow.

6. Friends.
