Anyway, about five minutes after I got off the phone with her, I got a text message from Oldest Brother. He had just heard from John there's going to be a birthday party for Aunt Helen on Saturday. Pretty short notice, but what can you do? So I have to see if I can get it off somehow or other.
So I got back to sleep after that, and slept til around 7-something when I got up to use the bathroom, and answeran e-mail from the FWiB. Then I went back to bed.
The result of all this is that I did sleep later than I meant to. But I got up, breakfasted and coffeed, and read on the computer. Then I Skyped the FWiB, for a little over an hour, which made me later than I wanted but was worth it, and headed into the city.
Also last night,
Then I went to the Strand and looked through their Science Fiction and Fantasy section. Came away with a new copy of Stranger in a Strange Land, which I have read, but so long ago I don't remember much about it.
And then I went to Union Square, where people were starting to gather for the demonstration. I enjoyed it, but the sound system was sub-par, so I could barely hear people despite being close to the front. There were counter demonstrators of course, and they were assholes, but I think they were handled well. There was also a group, I forget the name, that feels the government and country are so fundamentally flawed that the only thing to do is revolution. Anyway, it was a good demonstration, on the whole. There was a drone flying overhead and watching and presumably recording it, which was creepy.
After it was over I called
After that they brought me home, I called Oldest Brother, and now here I am. So a busy day all around.
